New York, NY~On Saturday, December 10, 2011, the African Leadership
Project for Civic Engagement and Economics presents ….EMERGE: The
African Leader’s Roundtable Pt.1 at Bronx Community College, 2155
University Blvd. Bronx, NY 10453 @ the Schwendler Auditorium, Miester
Hall. This event will be hosted from 10a.m.- 3p.m.The theme of the
event appropriately titled “Emerging African Leaders in the West;
Challenges and Prospects” speaks to the efforts of an emerging
generation of African leaders and their work within both the African
and community at-large.
This event promises to be a very exciting and robust discussion
between African leaders about what the new face of leadership looks
like in the U.S. and how that leadership has a greater responsibility
in creating visibility, civic & political engagement, as well as
economic empowerment within the African community.
This event is the launching of a series of provoking dialogue
addressing the growing African population in the U.S. and how this
immigrant community fits into the political landscape of this country.
As the latest census numbers reflect the new immigrant majority the
political landscape for Africans is currently changing. This event is
to ensure that Africans are not left out of the political and economic
conversation. The African community at large in many cases has not
been able to compete as it should due to the lack of training,
resources, and the networks that allow us to stay competitive. After
this event we doubt things will be the same…..
The African Leadership Project for Civic Engagement & Economics’
mission aims to empower and advance African leadership in all
communities, business industries and political sectors, by filling the
leadership pipeline with a richly diverse, committed, critical mass of
Africans. Our core focuses are…Civic Engagement, Awakening the
Political Voice, Leadership & Development, and Economic Empowerment.

Beauty Of The Dark Continent.
Just like every single one of the four million people who were forced to leave their families, cattle, and burning villages behind, she walked for hundreds of miles into the great unknown after the outbreak of civil war in Sudan in 1985, not aware if she would ever return to the place she had always called home, Read More...

DR. OLAJIDE WILLIAMS 'THE HIP HOP DOC’
“Switch it up/Put some water in the cup,” the man standing onstage alongside old-school hip-hop legends Doug E. Fresh and Artie Green raps with the swagger of a new school artist.
