You can feel it in the air; the waves of change are sweeping through Africa in 2012. It is time to shout from the rooftops, “I AM AFRICAN” and feel the pride in celebrating our accomplishments. As we celebrate women’s month in March and the women’s decade of 2010-2020, We would also like to congratulate the people of Malawi, and all Africans, for once more placing their confidence in a woman. It is great to see growing amount of African women who are redefining their roles on the continent and on the world’s stage.

We start by bringing you our greatest cover story ever – the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee.  Her message is clear and simple; the African women have a crucial role to play in the development of Africa. We concur!

Still on the celebration of African women, we have exclusives with Ella Gorgla (founder of I-Ella, the eBay for Fashion),  Erelu Bisi Adeleye Fayemi (first lady of Ekiti, Nigeria) and Saran Kaba Jones (Applause Africa Person of Year 2011 Winner).

Still craving more? We have the gorgeous Gorgie Badiel, recently awarded Female Model of the Year (2012), at ARISE Magazine’s Fashion Week in Lagos, Nigeria . We continue to give you more by highlighting not one, but two Female Artists making waves in the music industry with their soulful yet poetic voices - Ayo and Akua!

And to tickle your funny bone, we have ace comedian, Ms. Yvonne Orji who gives relationship tips on finding the “one” with a comedic twist.  Warning: Try them at your own risk.

Lest we forget to tantalize your taste buds with Afropolitan Chef, Yetunde Taiwo, as she dishes out secrets to good cooking as well as a recipe for a delicious plate of Yam Porridge. Finally for a dose of controversy we have Mutiyat Ade-Salu, a New York based actress and singer give her unpopular perspective of the popular Fela!

All this said and that is only a tease of what this issue has to offer!! Okay here is one more...ever wonder who created HopStop.com? We did too, and we found out!

Just like every single one of the four million people who were forced to leave their families, cattle, and burning villages behind, she walked for hundreds of miles into the great unknown after the outbreak of civil war in Sudan in 1985, not aware if she would ever return to the place she had always called home, Read More...

DR. OLAJIDE WILLIAMS 'THE HIP HOP DOC’

“Switch it up/Put some water in the cup,” the man standing onstage alongside old-school hip-hop legends Doug E. Fresh and Artie Green raps with the swagger of a new school artist. With his tie loosely draped across his chest, his top button undone, and Ray Ban-like glasses reminiscent of B.O.B’s, Read More...
