They’ve continuously provided #GOALS with their resilience and success all while being a mom daily. Leaving us constantly wondering how they do it and how we can do it too.


Omoni Oboli
International award winning Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and mother of three boys isn’t letting up on her career. She actually wows us more with every project. After taking a decade off from acting she came back not only as an actress, but made a name for herself as a screenwriter of films such as Being Mrs Elliott, The First Lady, and Wives On Strike to name a few. Now we also have her fashion line ‘Omoni Oboli By AVE’ in conjunction with Ayo Van Elmer which she recently launched.






Joselyn Dumas
Television host, producer, and actress is best known for flexing her skills as host of The One Show and @ Home with Joselyn Dumas in Africa and some parts of Europe. Becoming an award-nominated actress and also starting her own production company, Virgo Sun Company Limited along the way while making it look easy leaves us in awe. She keeps her personal life pretty private, but every now and then she beams with joy about her daughter, Senia.




Tiwa Savage


Award winning Afropop singer/songwriter signed to Roc Nation in 2016 after having some success in Nigeria. She has been a songwriter for Sony and first lady of Mavin Records, and also managed to give birth to her son, Jamil in 2015. Motherhood hasn’t slowed her down with a U.S. tour last year and recently releasing her new song ‘All Over.’


Aituaje Iruobe (Waje)
The three range octave singer from Nigeria is not to be overlooked vocally. Making her debut in the early 2000s while still a student in university with her single ‘Do Me’. Her music career has continued over the years to soar all over the continent and Europe winning her awards, collaborations, and being a judge on “The Voice of Nigeria.” Being a single mother of daughter Emerald hasn’t stopped her from achieving great things with her music.


Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Appearing in over 300 video movies since her start in 1995, the mother of four is Nollywood’s most watched actress with over 40 domestic and international awards to back it up. Her acting career is followed by her music career and philanthropy landing her on Time’s 2013 most influential people list. All of her amazing accomplishments, including being a mother to Princess, M.J., Meraiah, and Michael, have been met before the age of 40.



Pearl Thusi
The South African beauty is a radio and tv personality, actress and model. She has been seen hosting on MTV Africa and E.tv along with EbonyLife TV to name a few popular shows like Lip Sync Battle Africa. She’s also taken her acting career to the next level appearing on soap opera, Insidingo, and drama series, Quantico. Accompanied with her career success is being a mother to daughter, Thandolwethu Mokoena.


Viola Davis
The Academy Award winning actress and mother has worked with the best of the best in Hollywood including Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, and George Clooney. She even stars in her own show, How To Get Away With Murder, created by Shonda Rhimes. In 2011, she became a mother when she and husband Julius Tennon adopted baby Genesis Tennon. It seems she slayed even more after becoming a mom at 46.





Shonda Rhimes
Television producer, author, and screenwriter of our favorite show, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, and Grey’s Anatomy just to name a few, in which she produces through her own company, Shondaland is a trailblazer in Hollywood. She is a mother of three daughters, two adopted and one through a surrogate. She’s making motherhood look easy as she continues to keep us glued to the television and put more people of color in the spotlight.


Iman
The Somalian model/actress turned businesswoman of Iman cosmetics, and author has helped reshape the beauty industry for women of color. At a time when darker shades of make-up were almost non-existent she did something about it. Her beauty line continues to be a go-to for women of color over 20 years later. She is the mother of daughter, Alexandria, and stepmother to late husband, David Bowie, son, Duncan.


Beyonce
Grammy award-winning singer and performer of some of our favorite girl power anthems such as Formation, Put A Ring On It, and Who Runs The World (girls), and owner of Parkwood Entertainment she has become the epitome of slaying for many of us. After having daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in 2012 she gave us more music and more shows including her visual albums self-titled, Beyonce, and Lemonade, world tours for both albums and one with husband Jay-Z. Now she’s pregnant with twins.


Kandi Buress
Singer, songwriter, reality tv star, and entrepreneur never seems to amaze us with every new venture. We were introduced to her as a member of Xscape in the 90’s, but once reemerged on Real Housewives of Atlanta we’ve had the chance to see her make hit records, invest and start a sex toy line, and most recently open up a new restaurant Old Lady Gang (OLG). Meanwhile, she is a mother to her first daughter, Riley, and now to one-year-old son, Ace.


Michelle Obama
The first African American First Lady of the United States of America proved to be more than just a wife to President Barack Obama, but the driving force of the family. As a Harvard Law School graduate and practicing lawyer when she met her husband, Barack, brilliant is an understatement when describing her. The mother of two daughters, Malia and Sasha, is graceful and passionate about childhood obesity and making sure girls around the world get an education.
