Watch the Teaser for New Show ‘African Booty Scratcher’

Damilare Sonoiki, a writer on the hit television series Black-ish is creating a television show about a young Nigerian, Ayo, navigating America amidst the culture of his immigrant parents and his American peers. Ayo is every first-generation immigrant kid. 

Damilare Sonoiki, a writer on the hit television series Black-ish is creating a television show about a young Nigerian, Ayo, navigating America amidst the culture of his immigrant parents and his American peers. Ayo is every first-generation immigrant kid.  In the teaser we see the causes of Nigerian exceptionalism: hour long prayers at the dinner table, parents who insist on Harvard and scream when you get a B+ instead of an A, and goat meat.

 

We see Ayo trying to explain the ways of his family to his American friend and watch him struggle to be accepted by peers that call him an “African Booty Scratcher.”
