Everyday of our lives begins and ends with water. Water nourishes us, fills us, purifies us, calms us. It is one of the few things that sustains the ebb and flow of our existence. Given that we live on a planet that is 71% water and within bodies that are 50-65% water, accessing clean water should be an inalienable right for all mankind to live lives of dignity.

However, 700 million people globally lack access to safe water supply sources. The African continent alone accounts for 350 million people affected everyday. According to FACE Africa Founder & CEO, Saran Kaba Jones, “Clean water is a catalyst for change. It is the first and most important step to lifting communities out of a cycle of illness and poverty.” For the past 6 years, FACE Africa has been at the forefront of the effort to bring clean and safe drinking water to some of the most remote towns in sub-Saharan Africa. To date, FACE Africa has completed 50 community WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects directly benefiting more than 25,000 people in rural Liberia.

In order to raise awareness of the clean water crisis in parts of the African continent, FACE Africa will host their 7th Annual WASH Gala on Saturday March 26, 2016 at NeueHouse Madison Square in New York City. More than just a gathering of prominent individuals in development, tech, entertainment and art, WASH Gala is an intimate opportunity to learn more about how FACE Africa is making an impact and ways to get involved.

Expected guests at this year’s WASH Gala include: Oluchi, Trevor Noah, Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Angela Simmons, Toronto Raptor’s President & General Manager Masai Ujiri, and Grammy nominated artist Jidenna.

This year’s event is being sponsored by the Coca Cola Company, Royal Air Maroc, Voss Water, New Wave Foundation, 803Lounge and Ethiopian Air. More info at www.faceafricagala.com.
